A very much, back to basics, ultra marathon.
Unmanned water stations at approximately 18, 40, 52, 63, 77 and 93K (See images below) staffed aid station at mile 30. None stop, ultra marathon with 118 km - 73 miles with well over 10,000 ft of accent The clockwise route visits the upper Colne Valley, Spen Valley and Holme Valley and passes Dewsbury, Holmfirth and Marsden. Highlights on the route include a series of picturesque reservoirs including Holme Styes, Ramsden, Digley and Bilberry Reservoirs. Most of the route is way marked but you will require basic navigation skills (some of this, you will be doing at night... we will NOT assist! The required maps and route descriptions are available for down load. (we did complete the whole recce without maps, but we also know the area!) Seriously just want to say the Ultra Kirklees Way is an amazing route..with great challenges... Only 5 people have ever completed the UKW

Registration: (Start/Finish) Standedge Tunnel and Visitor Centre, Waters Rd, Huddersfield HD7 6NQ - (SATNAV HD7 6DH takes you to the free parking at Marsden Station (HD7 6DH), from there take the 15 minute pushchair friendly walk along the towpath to join us. Disabled parking only at our visitor centre)
Catering: Watersedge Café - serving tea coffee etc, open through to 4:30 Saturday and Sunday. Apart from the start/finish this is a self sufficient ultra marathon with Unmanned water stations at approximately 18, 40, 52, 63, 77 and 93K New for 2019 A staffed aid station at approximately mile 30 we will transport a small drop bag here for you. COMPULSORY kit listThis list applies to you all.
Waterproof Jacket with taped seems. Minimum of 1 litre of fluids, water, isotonic, or sports drink. Headtorch / Torch with spare batteries. Whistle. Survival Bag (foil blanket etc.) Emergency food supply. Relevant map/ map extracts. Small Rucksack, Bumbag or Both. Hat & Gloves, fleece or equivalent, (it gets cold at night). Although you may choose to wear shorts during the event you must also carry full leg cover either water proof or not.
